crystalPrediction is an interesting word, because in reality no one can really predict what will happen in the future.

But what’s interesting is that for NASCAR fans, this time of year brings on a strong urge to give an opinion about what you think will or will not happen in the upcoming season.

The Shootout Will Miss NASCAR’s Top Stars

The Shootout is going back to the way things use to be come February at Daytona and two of NASCAR’s biggest names will not be there.

In 2013, drivers eligible for the Shootout include pole winners from the 2012 season and past Shootout winners.

Two of the sport’s biggest drivers didn’t make that list. Those drivers include last year’s Sprint Cup champion, Brad Keselowski, and Clint Bowyer. Two of the sports most refreshing and outspoken drivers will be no where to be found on the race track when NASCAR hits the track that Saturday night. Chase Tracker – The Contenders after Phoenix

Sunday’s AdvoCare 500 at Phoenix International Speedway looked to be an exciting race as the championship battle had come down to seven points. The championship contenders were neck and neck all day, until the unthinkable happened.

Once the green flag dropped Sunday, Brad Keselowski and Jimmie Johnson ran within a few positions of each other the entire day. Keselowski had the better car and held the upper hand throughout the day, running all the way into the top-five as Johnson worked himself into the top ten.
