Out of all seven seasons I have been a NASCAR fan, 2012 went the fastest. It seems like yesterday it was Daytona 500 weekend and the hype of the new season was at its highest. Well now the season has ended, we have a new champion and we can reflect on an incredible season.  The 2012 season may not have been as exciting as the 2011 season but it was definitely incredible. A new champion has been crowned – Brad Keselowski is now on top of the world as the new Sprint Cup Series Champion.

After three full-time seasons in the Sprint Cup Series, Keselowski is now the champion. More notably, Roger Penske is finally a Sprint Cup Series Championship winning owner after forty plus years in the sport. Keselowski raced his race all afternoon and he, his team and owner were rewarded with a championship. Continue reading

Chase Tracker – The Contenders after Phoenix

Sunday’s AdvoCare 500 at Phoenix International Speedway looked to be an exciting race as the championship battle had come down to seven points. The championship contenders were neck and neck all day, until the unthinkable happened.

Once the green flag dropped Sunday, Brad Keselowski and Jimmie Johnson ran within a few positions of each other the entire day. Keselowski had the better car and held the upper hand throughout the day, running all the way into the top-five as Johnson worked himself into the top ten.
