Kid Rock to Perform at Ford EcoBoost 400
Multi-platinum selling American rock star Kid Rock will be performing a live set prior to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship Ford EcoBoost 400 next Sunday – Nov 18 – at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Track President Matthew Becherer made the announcement.
In addition to the pre-race show, Kid Rock will serve as the celebrity pace car driver and, together with the track, offer a ticket package that includes:
One premium Grandstand ticket to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship Ford EcoBoost 400
One pre-race Pit Pass that includes stageside access for the show
A digital download of his new album “Rebel Soul,” set to drop the day after the race – Monday, November 19.

The Top Dog/Atlantic recording artist has had a musical presence throughout NASCAR’s Chase for the Sprint Cup with his songs featured on the ESPN-TV race telecast. “Rebel Soul,” Kid Rock’s newest studio album will be released the day after the race, November 19. Kid Rock will be performing a set that includes his new single “Let’s Ride,” which will be broadcast in full on ESPN during its championship race pre-race show, “NASCAR Countdown.” Kid Rock will also answer questions during the first extended caution, aired in full during the ESPN race telecast, which begins at 3:00pm ET. In addition to the performance and appearances, the majority of the music played during the race telecast will be Kid Rock’s.
Kid Rock, whose musical style ranges from hip hop to heavy metal to country, has sold more than 26 million albums worldwide. He has also been a constant supporter of American troops at home and abroad.
“The addition of Kid Rock rounds out a stellar lineup of entertainment for Ford Championship Weekend,” said Becherer. “His music is pure Americana and will be the perfect way to transition to 267 laps of championship racing.”

SPEED Opens Packed Homestead Weekend with Thursday’s Live Coverage of Championship Contenders Press Conference
SPEED opens its comprehensive coverage of the NASCAR season finale from Homestead-Miami Speedway by interrupting regularly-scheduled programming Thursday at 12pm ET to offer live coverage of the Championship Contenders Press Conference.
SPEED Center host Adam Alexander anchors SPEED’s coverage from Charlotte, NC, studios with Bob Dillner reporting from the press conference featuring NASCAR Sprint Cup Series points lead Brad Keselowski and five-time champion Jimmie Johnson. SPEED.com also offers live streaming of the press conference.
Joining Johnson and Keselowski are NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship contenders James Buescher, Timothy Peters and Ty Dillon, as well as NASCAR Nationwide Series title hopefuls Ricky Stenhouse Jr, Elliott Sadler and Austin Dillon. NASCAR on SPEED and FOX host Krista Voda co-hosts the at-track press conference with NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee Rusty Wallace.
SPEED airs a special recap of the even coupled with looks at and analysis of the weekend’s championship-deciding races, entitled Championship Week Preview, Thursday at 9pm ET. NASCAR Race Hub has all the latest news and storylines at 6pm ET Thursday with Steve Byrnes hosting from the Charlotte studios and Bob Dillner and Danielle Trotta reporting from Homestead.
“We are going to close out the 2012 NASCAR season in the same manner we opened it at Daytona testing in January – all hands on deck and foot in the gas,” said SPEED President Scott Ackerson. “Whether fans tune in for any fallout from last week’s crazy events or simply to cheer their favorite driver or title contender, SPEED will keep them up-to-date as every moment and move unfolds.”
Also airing Thursday at 7pm ET is the one-hour special, Inside Michael Waltrip Racing: A Championship Quest II, which features exclusive, never-before-seen video shot from the middle of the melee that broke out Sunday in the Phoenix garage between the Nos 15 and 24 crews after Jeff Gordon wrecked Clint Bowyer. SPEED follows up the MWR special with the premiere of Kurt Busch: The Outlaw, a one-hour documentary focusing on the driver’s struggles and personal life on and off-the-track, at 8pm ET. An encore of Beyond 200: The Hendrick Motorsports Story airs at 10pm ET.
On Friday, SPEED opens its on-track coverage from Homestead-Miami Speedway with NASCAR Camping World Truck Series qualifying – 4:30pm ET, coverage of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series qualifying – 6pm ET, NCWTS Setup with Krista Voda – 7:30pm ET and the final race of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season – 8pm ET, followed by SPEED Center – 10:30pm ET and Trackside – 11pm.
On Saturday, SPEED opens its live coverage with NASCAR Live – 11am ET, followed by coverage of NASCAR Nationwide Series qualifying – 11:30am ET, NASCAR Live – 2:30pm, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series final practice – 3pm ET and SPEED Center – 7:30pm ET.
Sunday’s coverage opens with NASCAR Performance – 10am, SPEED Center; NASCAR Edition – 10:30am, an expanded edition of NASCAR RaceDay – 11am, for which the NASCAR on FOX gang of Mike Joy, Darrell Waltrip and Jeff Hammond join the regular cast of John Roberts, Kyle Petty, Larry McReynolds, Kenny Wallace, Wendy Venturini, Bob Dillner, Rutledge Wood and Matt Clark. SPEED also has all the race highlights, interviews and analysis of the Sprint Cup Series race and newly-crowned champion on NASCAR Victory Lane – 7pm, SPEED Center – 8pm and Wind Tunnel with Dave Despain – 9pm.
To close out the 2012 NASCAR season, the SPEED gang heads to Las Vegas Nov 30 for live coverage – 8pm ET of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Awards Ceremony from the Wynn Las Vegas. Also on tap is the Nov 29 coverage of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series Awards Ceremony from the Loews Miami Beach Hotel, airing at 8pm ET.
